Melissa Schepp, pmhnp

Hello. My name is Melissa Schepp and I am a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. I have over a decade of experience working as a nurse in public health, public schools, and outpatient mental health. After seeing a large need for mental health providers, I decided to obtain Nurse Practitioners masters degree in Psychiatric Mental Health. I have been working as a PMHNP for 2.5 years, working with clients/patients from age 8 to 98. I treat all types of mental health disorders with medication management and provide supportive therapy.

My husband and I have a large blended family of my three children and his three children. Our kids are mostly grown and flown with them scattered throughout Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wyoming. We love to spend time with our children and our families at the lake with low evening boat rides and campfires being the highlights. We are also avid dog lovers and we have 3. My littlest and bossiest is Cylus, a 8 year old Yorkie-poo. Next we have our 5 year old Golden Retriever, Chance. And the baby of the bunch is a 2 year old Golden Retriever named Chevy. We also have a 15 year old elderly orange tabby cat, Gibby. Our pets provide us undeniable love, patience, and companionship.

I look forward to assisting you on your journey towards achieving your fullest potential, and supporting you with personal grow, and empowering you to reach your goals.

PAULA TOFTE, PMHNP

Paula has over 25 years of experience in behavioral health, specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of adults with psychiatric and co-occurring substance use disorders. After earning a Master of Science in Nursing degree in 2011, Paula became board-certified in Adult Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing through the American Nurses Credentialing Center. She has actively practiced in various inpatient and outpatient mental health facilities, including correctional facilities, for over 14 years.

Paula has extensive experience in managing a wide range of mental health conditions, including PTSD, mood disorders, anxiety, ADHD, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and substance use disorders. Her primary goal is to build positive therapeutic relationships with clients, helping them achieve balance among their physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being through medication management and individual psychotherapy.

Paula adopts a patient-centered, supportive approach that incorporates active listening, open-ended questions, and validation to build rapport and effectively understand clients' needs and concerns.

Having lived in small rural communities for most of her life, Paula has witnessed firsthand the impact untreated mental illness and substance use can have on individuals and society. This experience fuels her commitment to improving mental health services and access to care for all individuals, particularly those in rural and underserved communities who might otherwise go without the support they need.

“If you are suffering from mental illness or substance use and are having difficulty coping with life, you don’t have to struggle alone, I can help you on your journey to finding emotional, physical and psychological well-being.” - Paula Tofte, PMHNP
